New Multi-Modality Imaging System for Cancer Therapy Gains FDA 510k Clearance

Atlanta GA - Velocity Medical Solutions announces the release of Velocity Advanced Imaging Systems (AIS) for multi-modality imaging for cancer therapy. VelocityAIS 1.0, which received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) earlier this month, is developed with features designed to register molecular imaging data such as PET and SPECT imaging with anatomical imaging such as CT and MR. Methods to draw on the images for treatment planning systems are included in the software. VelocityAI incorporates powerful new image registration and fusion tools. Clinicians can use it to register tomographic images used to guide the treatment planning and assess the response to therapy.
